Do you have a bare fenceline?
How to Hedgerow in California
In Northern California many opportunities exist to create habitat linkage on your property for native plants, insects, birds, and small mammals. With a simple set up including a water spicket, a dripline, and the will to grow.

If you grow, it they will come.
Growing many different native plant species including narrow leaved milkweed pictured here, invites native wildlife to join your property.
A classic hedgerow starts with oaks.
An anchor species in your hedgerow would consist of a few live or valley oak trees bordered by coffeeberry, coyote brush, buck brush, and quail bush. The pallet is endless and self sustaining over time.
